My music progress has come a long way since my last update. After watching a few more videos on tonguing and putting that skill to practice, I am much more comfortable with my abilities. At first, it felt like a very awkward movement since I had never learned that skill in Elementary school. It definitely took some time to get used to it and adjust. I can also no hear the difference between tonguing and not tonguing which I wasn’t able to do before! The song sounds cleaner with tonguing and there is a clear distinction of notes. I have also been mastering the song “Morning” by Grieg for the midterm.

I feel fairly confident in my progress for my song thus far, but I know there is still some fine-tuning to be done! I have erased the written notes from my sheet music and have been playing off reading the notes from the bar line. This was a very exciting step and really showed me my musical development. It has been amazing to see how much I am able to accomplish musically with daily practice and learning new skills on my instrument.
